Too-Short Shorts (Again)?

NYC chilled out today and had a lovely breeze— btw, do you like my daily weather updates? Sorry, but the climate really dictates LIFE here. I can sense the autumnal shift happening in my bones (and on my Accuweather app) so in case this was our last day of #summerfall, I decided to dress accordingly.

I got these silk shorts last year at INA, my fave designer resale shop. I was with my good friend and shopping buddy Sue and I can't imagine she would have let me buy too-short shorts, but wearing them today I just didn't feel comfy. They aren't nearly as bad as my almost-cheek-sneaking onesie from last week, I just can't decide if they're appropriate—for my age, my body, my existence.

Since they're high-waisted, I wanted a button-down that I could tie up. After a few chambray shirt #fails, I happened upon this light peach number by AG. Now, I really have ZERO recollection of buying this, which means it's easily been around for 4-5 years. I actually really like the cut of it, and when I finally lined up the buttons correctly, it tied nicely and was fitted yet loose and breezy. Weee!

I found the shoes on sale at Maiyet and, while they aren't quite "walkin' around shoes," I wore them for a little bit today [full disclose: I changed into flip flops after about an hour] and I really adore them. I think I could survive a whole cocktail party in those babies! Maybe...

Earrings are by my fabulous designer friend Lele Sadoughi. She makes the coolest jewelz. Vintage Gucci bag is from Amarcord vintage, a store that always has well-curated treasures.

OutFit or LeaveIT?: I think the shorts have taken their final jaunt about town. Time for someone younger to get leggy with it. RIP, shorts. It's been real...real short.
