Why I'm Wearing Pants In A Heatwave

Today was another scorcher in the Baked Apple. Or maybe it's Broiled? Either way, 92º real feel and 1000% humidity doesn't usually say "pants" for an outfit choice, but hey—this is a challenge and I ain't lettin no heatwave tell me what to do. Except for telling me to sweat excessively on the subway platform.

Here I give you yet another pair of pants I've been avoiding. I bought them from Zara three years ago and haven't worn them in two. EEK. Between my fluctuating weight(s) and weather variables, they've remained hanger candy in the dregs of my closet. But today was their day! I was thrilled that they pulled right on and were actually pretty thin and breezy. I know tank tops are usually nothing to provoke jazz hands, but I found this one at a little shop in my 'hood that I like called Article& and it's seriously TANK TRIUMPH. Thin, but not too thin. Not too baggy but not too tight where you can see muffins and rolls n' stuff.

The pants are a smidge on the long side so they needed a shoe with some height, which was the perfect opp to get a little more wear out of these Loeffler Randall wedges I scored last spring.

I needed a few 'cessories, and this necklace and bracelet were just what I wanted—not to mention they're made by Lele Sadoughi, a killer designer who also happens to be a college friend and fellow Texas gal. Yeehaw for jewels!

OutFIT or LeaveIT?: The pants are the best! Why did I throw shade on them for so long? I think they could possibly be hemmed a little (my pile for the tailor is really getting big). I'd love to try to wear them in early fall too with a chunky sweater and boots!

Not sure wtf I'm looking at, but an excellent showcase of Lele Sadoughi's bracelet and necklace
