Chambray All Day

Could the sky be any bluer today? That must've been my inspo for dressing in denim on denim. I got this Zara chambray button down it has snaps—does that make it a snap-down?) about 4 years ago and I've consistently worn it. That speaks to the beauty of a simple, staple wardrobe piece, huh? I hadn't worn it in a bit so I thought today was the day!

Another Day, Another Black Dress

This dress is the epitome of old AF. I can see myself wearing it on a date B.D, (Before Dan aka hubs.) It’s some odd vintage-y thing from Urban Outfitters which I have probably not set foot inside since circa 2011? With my life in BK I feel like I need some version of Suburban Outfitters but for people who still hope they’re cool. Either way, this thing has to be 6 or 7 years old.

Not Mad At Fall At All

Another brisk day here, another opp to dig in to my warm weather clothes. I'm psyched to switch up my wardrobe but I'm looking forward to the closet changeover about as much as I look forward to a root canal.

All The Fall Feels

The slight nip in the air made me strangely excited today! Generally I loathe any weather below 70 degrees, but I think I am officially SO OVER my summer wardrobe I was thrilled at the thought of mixing it up. And of course wearing something I've been eager to put on.

The Black Swan Rides Again

In my Wear Your Whole Closet Challenge “rules” (that I made up) I said party clothes and shoes aren’t part of the challenge, because those things are meant to be worn for occasions only  and can actually be held onto for years, even passed down to generations. BUT, when it came time to think about a frock for bestie Candice’s fancy 40th bday bash, I wanted to try to “shop my closet” instead of buying something new.

Layers On Layers

I had another early-ass morning today made even more pleasant by a late-ish night last night, out for my good friend Kate's bday with a bunch of rowdy chicks. I loathe when last night hurts today. But, the show had to go on, and so did my clothing this morning. I was SO tempted to wear my favorite black jogger pants look but forced myself to go the non-sweats route.

Annnnd now it's cold.

I toyed with the idea of a longer tank dress with a jacket and just couldn't make that work. I had some isSHOES. So I quickly threw on these new AYR jeans I got. It's my friend Candice's fault that I bought them too. I toyed with the idea of a longer tank dress with a jacket and just couldn't make that work. I had some isSHOES. All The Feels For A T-Shirt And Heels

I completely hijacked the idea of a t-shirt, skirt and heels from my bestie, Jen, aka Jendel. It's her signature look and one that makes so much sense. Sometimes you want to wear a fun, flirty skirt but you also don't feel like being so fancy schmancy. Which is exactly how I was feeling today. We're still milking the warmth so I burrowed into the back of the closet where all my skirts hide from me and pulled out this high-waisted midi I got from ASOS in 2013.

A Dress That Comes With A Side Of Guilt

Are you ready for your daily Lindsey weather report? Great! Today was a whopping 88º here, which has to be some sort of record for October 10. Again, I’m not complaining as I’m a Texas flower who loathes the cold. But this unexpected #summerfall is really making my challenge ever more, well, challenging. Trying to adapt warm weather clothes to a fall vibe ain’t easy day after day. How do you warm climate people do it year round? RESPECT.

Who Ordered The Sauna?

It's days like today that people are overjoyed they have a holiday. Unless you're the people who don't. Not only did I have to do work, I had an early-ass doctor appointment in the city and had to dress for the day since I was meeting up with my friend Meredith whom I met in 3rd grade in San Antonio and was friends with through high school. She now lives in Alaska and we haven't seen each other in 20 years, so you'd usually like to take that opportunity to look your best, right? Welp, Tropical Storm Nate had other plans for me (and my hair. Mostly my hair).

The Little Black Dress That's A Little Too Little

I’m still trying to figure out what I’m supposed to be wearing in whatever this "season" is. I’ve been eyeing this T by Alexander Wang cotton dress in my closet for a few weeks now. It’s a simple, soft, black tank dress with spaghetti straps. I got it about six years ago and,  in my killer-shape-single-days, I wore this as-is during summer months. Now it feels a little...exposed. It’s super clingy and offers zero barrier between any bumps or lumps and the public eye. Or at least that’s how I feel. Still, I haven’t been willing to part with it.

I Have ITCHues

There's a serious TGIFF feeling in the air, probably due to Monday's holiday (for some. Sorry if you're not some). Today's outfit is brought to you by the Letter I, for ITCHY. About a year ago my bestie Jen who lives in LA now [sob] and I were on one of our marathon shopping tears. Jen thrust this super soft, short ivory tank sweater into my hands and said "try this, you'll have it forever!"

Can I Be Comfy TWO Days In A Row—And Still Wear Real Clothes?

Yesterday’s comfy chic jogger n’ jacket outfit created a serious problem—for today. How could I even think about squeezing into anything remotely tight after that kind of comfort? Not to mention after our super salty Italian feast of a dinner. Sup, bloatation station. I dug into the depths of the scary skirt section and brought out an old fave and a good memory- this black Enza Costa maxi I got about 8 years ago.

The Outfit I Could Literally Wear Errrrry Single Day

This morning I had an early-ass appointment in the city which meant zero time would be devoted to my wardrobe or dressing like a human person. I'm a night-owl which means I’m the opposite of a morning person, aaaaand a gnarly beast in the early AM. I also knew I’d be running around, sitting and schlepping a lot so I really had to be comfy. Enter my most favorite outfit (outside of PJs or workout wear).

The #Summerfall Shift

As our awesome #summerfall continues, so continues my mission to fall-ify my wardrobe. Today’s victim: a silk shift dress. I bought it (on sale, obvs) at a boutique in my hood called Diane T . The shift dress is a magical invention I strangely never utilized until recently. It’s appropriate for work or play, daytime or evening, elongates legs (with proper shoes) and camouflages all those other middle parts. I also appreciate this dress fits me no matter how my weight fluctuates.

Learning To Fall-ify

On a recent post, my friend and designer Whitney Mero [Onion] commented that she hadn’t noticed and Onion designs on my feed so far. And she knows—I have quite a few. We met 7 years ago and I’ve been collecting her unique, striking jersey knit numbers ever since. But many of them are maxi sundresses I had filed under “summer,” and technically it’s now fall. However today was 77º and sunny and only the changing leaves knew it was fall. I suddenly realized I was thinking about my clothing all wrong!

To Poncho Or Not To Poncho?

I decided to step up the challenge Saturday night with an item that's befuddled me for over 2 years: The Poncho. I bought this lovely hand-woven wrap on a special girl's trip I took to Santa Fe two summers ago with some of my BFFs. One of my favorite memories was our trip to the Taos Gorge Bridge. It's an amazing natural phenomenon AND they have tons of little vendors designed to trap tourists just like us. As my bestie Jen said, "They saw us coming a mile away."
